Look Up to Get Up! (Psalm 121:1-2)

Slave to Sin!

I once was a slave to sin, held captive by its grip, a prisoner. It started at a very young age, I became addicted to sinful desires, I wasn’t raised in a Christian home and I didn’t know too much about Jesus. I thought God was a mean God, One who would rather destroy me than help me. But boy... was I ever wrong. So I grew up confused about God. Done it all, tried it all, sorta thing!! I was so deep into sin, I was in the darkest of darkness. I let bitterness, hate, anger, lust, you name it...fill my life with its poison. I didn’t care about life, it was my way or the highway... But what I didn’t know... was that I was being deceived. I was becoming someone who even I didn’t know anymore. Sin had total control of me. I felt weak, powerless , hopeless, and worthless. I had went to a youth retreat when I was 15 and there, I met Jesus, I tried living for Him for a couple years, I was growing, but not long after I begin to fall.

My past started to become my present again. For years I struggled... A part of me wanting, trying, to live for God, I was struggling as a part of me was bound by sin again... Feeling lost and hopeless... I was miserable. I felt like why even try!! So as usual... when things got rough...I gave up!!! But I then realized... I was trying to do it all on my own strength, my own power... I was trying to defeat sin. But Oh Boy!! That just ain’t possible!! I couldn’t change myself. As hard as I tried... I had to completely give it to God. Even as I was pushing Him to the side, I would still feel Him calling out my name, drawing me towards Him.... But I didn’t fully comprehend. I was walking in blindness without understanding, or wisdom. Once again all I could see was this monster I had become, and hated so much. I didn’t know who I was, what I was, or even half the time if I was even here!! I was the worst hypocrite going... But through it all... He loved me enough... even in my darkest hours, to save me from an eternal hell.
Now I can say, I am free, and Jesus lives within me!! I’m not perfect, far from it. But I serve a perfect God, who everyday helps me to live more and more for Him... He has opened my eyes , and now I walk in His light. I see clearly, I understand, I have wisdom, peace and joy in my life. He is my strength everyday.

Wisdom speaks to you and me

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. 10When wisdom entereth into thine, heart and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; (Proverbs 2:1-12)

Father God give us your wisdom.

Heart of a Pastor (Jeremiah 3:15)

Give God the Glory! It’s for your making….

The road we travel sometimes seems so hard. We go through life and we want better, we want to live better, we want better jobs, better cars, house’s and yes even better children, families and mates. Some of us get saved thinking, now that I’m saved it’s going to get better. Sometimes it gets a little harder and we can’t seem to see our way out. The Word of God says to keep our mind stayed on Jesus and He will keep us in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). In other words, no matter what we go through God is going to get the Glory…

Take a look at the Apostle Paul’s testimony in 2 Corinthians 11:21-33. Paul was imprisoned, had countless beatings, and often near death. Five times he received at the hands of the Jews forty lashes less one (39) and three times he was beaten with rods. Once he was stoned, three times shipwrecked; a night and a day adrift at sea, on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from his own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. There was daily pressure from churches and trouble on every side.

However, I do know that same Lord and Savior that was with Paul, is the same Lord and Savior who is with us today. HE is Jehovah Jireh (our provider), Jehovah Nissi (who fights our battles), Jehovah Sabaoth (the Lord of Hosts), El Shaddai (the Lord God Almighty).

He is JESUS CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 4:7-10 “But we hath this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.” So remember, we go through in life for God to get the Glory. It’s never about what we want but the glory that belongs to God and God alone…We think we have a market on people, places and things and it all belongs to God….SO, TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Pray withou Ceasing! (1Thessalonians 5:17)

God said, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

As the summer months are fast approaching, our children will be out of school, with idle time on their hands and in their minds. It’s been said, “An idle mind is the devils playground.” We need to join together to war in the Spirit for our Youth and Young adults because the enemy desires to sift them as wheat.

Join with us and pray for:
Our youth and young adults

When we come together with one accord lifting up prayers and supplications unto the Lord; salvation, deliverance, healing, and restoration comes. Activated faith moves God to come and see about HIS children and all that concerns us.

Pray for our Youth every day!

Fast so you can Last... (Matthew 17:20-21)

Fasting has many benefits for the believer, both spiritual and physical. Today we will talk about some of those benefits.

Physical benefits of fasting:
1. Allows the digestive system to rest.
2. Helps unclog the system and eliminate poisons.
3. Rest, fever and fasting are parts of God’s design to fight infection.
4. God designed our bodies to heal themselves at the cell level.

(please note these are not the only benefits, there are many more. These are just a few to get you started.)

Spiritual benefits of fasting:
1. Draw closer to God
2. Help in crisis situations.
3. Guidance.
4. Protection.
5. To reach the masses (in times of revival).
6. Freedom

However, To gain freedom in any area of our lives, we must learn discipline. When we submit to prayer and fasting, it helps us to develop a more disciplined Christian lifestyle. The goal of discipline is FREEDOM. If the result is not freedom, something is wrong. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)

Remember: When God sets you free from past or pet sins, STAY FREE (don’t go back and pick up those sins again).

Learn not to move in self, but to look to God for help!

Binding and Loosing (Matthew 18:18)

"The Strongman"

"…how can one enter into a strongman’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strongman? and then he will spoil his house.” (Matthew 12:29) “When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace; But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.” (Luke 11:21-22)

Who is the strongman? Satan and his imps are the strongmen. What is his name? Other names that Satan is known as are: the devil; the thief; the tempter; your adversary; the destroyer; the serpent; the dragon; the prince of this world; the Father of Lies. What does he come to do? He comes to cause the following (this is not a complete list of things that the strongman comes to do, these are just a few examples):

1. Doubt — Makes you question God’s Word and his goodness.
2. Discouragement — Makes you look at your problems rather than at God.
3. Diversion — Makes the wrong things seem attractive so that you will want them more than the right things.
4. Defeat — Makes you feel like a failure so that you don’t even try.
5. Delay — Makes you put off doing something so that it never gets done.

He also comes to cause fear, torment, anxiety, nightmares, ill health, etc. Once you allow one, two or all of these things to be your focus, you have opened the door for the strongman to come into your life.

The strongman uses anything he can to cause you to lose focus of God. He uses people (family; husband, wife, mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, in the church; leadership to the layman, and outside the church; business associates, acquaintances, or a stranger). He uses situation, circumstances, and things that we concern ourselves with.

We must learn how to bind the strongman by forbidding him to come back to harass us again in the name of Jesus. Then, according to Matthew 18:18, we loose the power of GOD to fill our life and repair the damage done by the strongman.

Then we have to learn how to maintain the freedom that God has given us. This will keep us from having to repeat the same things over and over again in our Christian life.

After the “house” is cleaned by repentance of sin and rejection of satanic influences we must then feed on the Word of God so that our “house” is transformed into the temple of the Holy Spirit. Trust GOD !!!

Strictly for Yo-Youth! (Mark 10:14)

Make Time for GOD!

“It’s raining I don’t really have no place to go, Hear a voice of quiet in my soul Saying I should go on just stay home. Saying I should talk to you. Tell you everything that’s on my mind, Tell you what’s going on inside. I don’t even know when’s the last time that I made time to talk to you. I’ve been so busy running about always trying to kick it, go hang out, but there’s no one else but you…”

I put a lot of stuff before HIM, and even when I don’t have anything to do sometimes I’ll just sit there and clean out my finger nails, but I hardly think of taking that time to talk to God, or read his word. God wants that time for us, it is in those quiet and peaceful times that God talks to us.

John 3:16 says that “God sent his only son Jesus for you.” Imagine sending a person you care the most for to suffer and die for the whole world! Jesus did it for you, the hours of pain and agony, and yet we find that we still can’t give God 15 minutes of our lives to talk to him or read his word. Believe me I’m not patronizing all those who are struggling with their devotions, because I have had a hard time too. However, I would like all of us to try to re-evaluate our lives and make some time for God.

Poetry Anyone... (Job, Psalms, Proverbs)

Lately...

Lately, I’ve been extremely stressed, tried test after test.
One day I’m above all the rest, the next day I’m not doing my best.

Lately, I’ve felt alone.
Even when everyone is near me, I feel alone . . . Spiritually.

Lately, I’ve been annoyed.
Everyone wants the best for me so I try hard, but come one people . . . I’m just a child!!!

Lately, I’ve been disappointed.
Everyone in my life cares for me but at times it seems only one person is really there for me.

Lately, I’ve been blind
. . . . Blind enough to think no one cares
. . . . Blind enough to not see the true person within me
. . . . Blind enough to let people bring me down

Lately, I’ve been acknowledged.
Acknowledged because I’ve realized that . . . All this time I was never alone.

In fact, GOD was always there even when no one else really was.

The Strength Of A Man!

The strength of a man is not seen in the width of his shoulders,
It's seen in the width of his arms that circle you.

The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice, It is in the gentle words he whispers.

The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has,
It's how good a buddy he is with his kids.

The strength of a man isn't in how respected he is at work,
It's in how respected he is at home.

The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits,
It's in how tender he touches.

The strength of a man isn't in the hair on his chest,
It's in his heart .... that lies within his chest.

The strength of a man isn't how many women he has loved,
It's in - can he be true to one woman.

The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift,
It is in the burdens he can carry.

Feelings from A Young Woman:

What Do You See?

If you truly look in my eyes you’d be surprised at what you see.

Why look at my body when it’s my mind that should be more important to you and me. The loneliness, heartache, depression is at times what I feel.

My love for people is deep, but can you look at me and tell me what do you see?

You want what you want and don’t think about me; my feelings, sweat and tears that burn inside of me.

I’m more than a woman.

I’m a queen!

The one you should respect and love. The one in your corner when you need a shoulder, that’s me!

The one who loved you, in spite of all things. The one who wants to be set free. It’s not easy as people make it to be.

Understand me and listen well, I’m a scorned woman with goals, dreams, and ambitions inside of me. So tell me, what do you see?

A Good Woman

A good woman takes pride in herself. She respects herself and others. She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, or does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs.

A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true... She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated. If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.

A good woman has a dash of inspiration, a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them.

A good woman knows her past, understands her present and moves toward the future.

A good woman knows God. She knows that with God the world is her playground, but without God she will just be played.

A good woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead, she understands that her life experiences are merely lessons, meant to bring her closer to self-knowledge and unconditional self-love.

Where has the Gospel Reached? (Matthew 28:18-20)

To God be the glory for my life!

I grew up in Buffalo, New York and lived in an area called the Fruit Belt on Orange Street. I am the second child of seven children and the oldest of the two girls. I was fighting all the time, sleeping around at a young age and I was worse than my brothers at times. My mother sent me to live overseas with my Uncle Jimmy in Madrid, Spain. I lived there 4 years and returned back home to the United States around the age of 15. I ended up pregnant with my oldest son and didn’t know what to do with a child so I kept running away from home. I tried to kill myself. I laid back in the tub and slit both of my wrists’. God allowed someone to find me and get me to the hospital. While I was laying in the tub I didn’t feel any fear but I could feel my life draining out of me. I heard the lady that came in the house that I was staying with at the time say, you’re going to be alright, you can’t die yet God’s not ready for you to go and when I woke up, I woke up in the hospital. My oldest son ended up in a home and his father went to court to get him and he raised him.

I left home and moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan with this guy that said he loved me and when we moved there I was beat and abused at least 3 years of that relationship and one day I was gang raped by his brothers and nephew. I was left in Grand Rapids, Michigan and stayed there in relationships of abuse until God finally sent me help through a woman to get me out of there.

I finally came home and ran into my other two children‘s father and we dated awhile. I then moved in with him, had two children and he had affairs on me and abused me as well…during my second pregnancy my children’s father slept with my best friend at the time and I ended up by myself, crying, hurt and abused and not knowing which way to turn, I moved. I met a young lady that moved downstairs from me and she heard me fighting all the time with the guy that had moved in with me. One day she told me that God loved me and I didn’t have to live that way. She was going to a church that would be able to help me. She started taking my children to church and I finally got the nerve to go with her.

Through all the abuse and all the pain I was seeking help to live a life that I and my children could be proud of. I needed to break the cycle of abuse and pain and to seek God’s forgiveness for my life. I was learning who I was, living alone with my children now and studying the Word of God more than I ever studied anything in my life. Then one day my house caught fire and we had no where to live so the Red Cross put us in a hotel. One of the Deacons of the church called to check on my children and I and we began to talk. For the first time in my life here was someone who cared about us with no attachments. We started talking and he helped me move into an apartment on Maple Street and he continued to live in his apartment. Today we are married and have been married for 19 years. The pastor of that church past away and we didn’t go back, because of the abuse we had taken from people in the church.

Since that time I have been raped spiritually and naturally in the church world and God has gotten me through some very rough times. I was so messed up. I committed adultery and would leave my family home for days at a time. God has restored my mind, heart, body and spirit as well as my marriage and my family. After so much hurt and pain, “God how do I make it through all of this”…I cried out to God and Jesus heard my cry. As I began to talk to God with all honesty and sincerity I said, “Lord, please change me, change the way I am, help me to do better, to live better, to love the way you love me…please Lord save me from myself and give me the strength to go in your name.” “I need your help Lord I can’t do it without you.”

Today I am still married to a wonderful husband of 19 years and two children here in the City of Buffalo, my oldest son is in the Air Force and is married with two beautiful children. I am the Pastor today of Divine Healing Ministries where God has allowed our ministry to heal the hearts, minds and spirit of others through the cleansing of the Word and His Love. I pray that this helps someone to realize that Jesus saves, heals and delivers. It does not matter what you are going through, Jesus is able to bring you out, just as HE brought me out. We are the church on the corner where Love is!

Encouragement for Everyday Life... (Psalm 8)

Rest In God’s Assurance
(formed and reformed)

In spite of our sense of independence, God has a prior claim on us. He created the world that became our necessary environment. He began the genetic process that eventually resulted in our birth. He even fashioned us in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:13). He is no late-coming Redeemer. He and His wisdom have been there all along.
This is extremely important to know when it seems as if your life is falling apart. It isn't. The life you have constructed may be falling apart, but the life God has fashioned is not. His wisdom has known all things before the foundations of the world— including you. If God has let you be undone, He has allowed it for a reason. He is bringing you to the end of your sinful self and to the beginning of life in His secure arms. God is bringing you home.
Do you realize how thoroughly rooted in eternity your life is? It was not an after thought in the mind of a play-it-by-ear God. Did you think your sin was a surprise to Him? It wasn't. He has already made provision for it. Before the foundation of the world, He did at least two things: He brought forth His wisdom; and He thought of you (Ephesians 1:4). His wisdom and your existence went hand in hand. Does that boggle your mind? It should. Rest in the assurance of a forever-wise God.

“COMPLETE The Work In Me” is a Ministry of Vision Workers International Ministries. COMPLETE began the birthing process August 28, 2006 when a Vision was placed in the spirit of Deaconess Dixon of a newspaper that would span the globe connecting like spirits with like minds making a positive impact on the Kingdom of God. It was completed on November 24, 2006 with the dream “COMPLETE The Work In Me” (John 17:22-23) as the Holy Spirit moved upon me I felt an urgency to get up and move. While God is completing the work in each of us, we work to bring unity to the body of Jesus Christ. One Body coming together to reach One Soul for the honor and glory of One Spirit; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I thank Father GOD for choosing and using me to bring this vision to pass. I thank each and everyone who has shared their testimony, inner thoughts, visions and dreams, time and talents to be used all for the glory and honor of GOD.
